Acceptable Use Policy
We believe that the safe and responsible use of our tools is in the best interests of our Customers, Plural AI, and wider society. For this reason, we maintain this Acceptable Use Policy to provide information and rules on what safe and responsible use means in the context of our Services.
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) outlines unacceptable use of Plural Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), which interact with, or access, the Internet (the “Services”). This AUP is in addition to any other terms and conditions under which Plural provides the Services to you. By using our services, you agree to adhere to this AUP. If you violate any term of this AUP, this could result in action against your account, including suspension or termination of the Services. In no event is Plural AI liable in the event of any loss incurred as a result of your or any of your users of the Services in contravention of this AUP.
Plural may make reasonable modifications to this AUP from time to time by posting a new version of this document on the Plural website at the current URL. Revisions are effective immediately upon posting. Accordingly, we recommend that you visit the Plural website regularly to ensure that your activities conform to the most recent version.
Questions about this AUP (e.g., whether any contemplated use is permitted) and reports of violations of this AUP should be directed to [email protected]. The examples listed in this AUP are not exhaustive. Prohibited uses and activities include, without limitation, any use of the Services in a manner that, in Plural’s reasonable judgment, involves, facilitates, or attempts any of the harmful behaviours outlined below:
These rules apply to all users of Plural AI services:
- Use the Services for their intended business purposes – use our Services for the purposes for which they are provided and only for internal business purposes. Do not use the Services (including any chat functionality provided therein) for any other other non-business uses or other unintended uses.
- Comply with applicable laws – for example, do not compromise the privacy of others, engage in regulated activity without complying with applicable regulations, or promote or engage in any illegal activity, including the exploitation or harm of children and the development or distribution of illegal substances, goods, or services.
- Do not use our service to harm yourself or others – for example, do not use our Services to promote suicide or self-harm, develop or use weapons, injure others or destroy property, or engage in unauthorized activities that violate the security of any service or system.
- Do not use our Service to create, repurpose or distribute harmful content – for example, do not use our Services to display, perform, send, receive or store any content that is obscene, pornographic, lewd, lascivious, or excessively violent, to defraud, scam, spam, mislead, bully, harass, defame, discriminate based on protected attributes, sexualize children, or promote violence, hatred or the suffering of others or to advocate, encourage or assist in violence against any person, group or property regardless of whether the material or its dissemination is unlawful.
- Respect our safeguards – for example, do not circumvent safeguards or safety mitigations in our Services unless agreed in advance with Plural AI (e.g., for agreed red teaming exercises).
- Don’t use our Services to interfere with systems or services – for example, do not use our Services to obtain unauthorized access to any system, network, service, or account, interfere with service to any user, site, account, system, or network by use of any program, script, command, or otherwise; or to introduce or activate any viruses, worms, harmful code and/or Trojan horses.
- Don’t use our Services to send mass communications – for example, do not use our Services to send or post unsolicited messages or e-mail, whether commercial or not, a) to any recipients who have requested that messages not be sent to them, or b) to a large number of recipients, including users, newsgroups, or bulletin boards, at one time or otherwise to evading spam filters, or send or post a message or e-mail with deceptive, absent, or forged
header or sender identification information.
- Ensure users understand – make sure your Authorised Users are aware that they are using an AI-powered tool and have appropriate training and guidance available to them on how to use the Services responsibly. Ensure they see a copy of this AUP before being given access to the Services.
- Respect the privacy of others – for example, don’t compromise the privacy of others, including:
- Collecting, processing, disclosing, inferring or generating personal data without complying with applicable legal requirements;
- Using biometric systems for identification or assessment, including facial recognition; or
- Facilitating spyware, communications surveillance, or unauthorized monitoring of individuals.
- Respect others’ proprietary rights – for example, do not access, send, receive, display, perform, disclose, store, or execute any content a) in violation of any copyright, right of publicity, patent, trademark, service mark, trade name, trade secret or other intellectual property right, b) in violation of any applicable agreement, or c) without authorisation. Do not delete or alter author attributions, copyright notices, or trademark notices, unless expressly
permitted in writing by the owner.
- Respect the safety, wellbeing, or rights of others – for example, do not perform or facilitate the following activities that may significantly impair the safety, wellbeing, or rights of others, including:
- Providing any legal or medical/health advice;
- Providing any financial advice without review by a qualified professional and disclosure of the use of AI assistance and its potential limitations;
- Making high-stakes automated decisions in domains that affect an individual’s safety, rights or well-being (e.g., law enforcement, migration, management of critical infrastructure, safety components of products, essential services, credit, employment, housing, education, social scoring, or insurance);
- Facilitating real money gambling or payday lending;
- Engaging in political campaigning or lobbying, including generating campaign materials personalized to or targeted at specific demographics; or
- Deterring people from participation in democratic processes, including misrepresenting voting processes or qualifications and discouraging voting.
- Do not use our Services to deceive or mislead – for example, don’t misuse our Services to cause harm by intentionally deceiving or misleading others, including:
- Generating or promoting disinformation, misinformation, or false online engagement (e.g., comments, reviews);
- Impersonating another individual or organization without consent or legal right;
- Engaging in or promoting academic dishonesty; or
- Failing to ensure that automated systems (e.g., chatbots) disclose to people that they are interacting with AI, unless it's obvious from the context.
- No reselling – Do not resell Plural’s services, in whole or in part, to any entity or individual, without Plural’s prior written consent, and do not misrepresent your relationship with Plural. Do not conduct any activities that may hold Plural or its affiliates up to public scorn or ridicule.
